Europe Day is celebrated on May 9th by all European countries. This date was chosen in order to commemorate the Schumann Declaration of 1950, made by the French Foreign Minister of the time, who started the process of European unification which began in 1952 with the birth of the European Community for Carbon and Steel (CECA).
