Antenna Europe Direct Assemblea legislativa della Regione Emilia-Romagna

Activities with schools

The 2007/2008 ED Antenna plan

A continuous relationship with the scholastic world is a priority for ED Antenna.
The process of European integration will only be able to continue if people living in Europe are conscious of what it means to be a European citizen. The European Union is counting on the new generations to continue this process.
Every year in our region, elementary, middle and high school children take a tour of the Legislative Assembly structures. The Assembly suggests a truly formative model which provides youth both the instruments necessary for democratic participation as well as a method which makes the sharing of resources and ideas through new technologies even easier.
During these experiences they also visit our structure and they have the opportunity to understand, often for the first time, the existence of the European Union what it means to be, in addition to an Italian citizen, a European citizen.

For the 2007/2008 school year Ed Antenna wants to offer to the schools the following additional opportunities:

Half-hour lesson during the Assembly visit:
Teachers who decide to use the tour guide service provided by the legislative Assembly may ask for more time to dedicate to the topic of European citizenship within the educational plan arranged for their visit. ED Antenna offers a half-hour lesson about European citizenship specifically created for elementary, middle and high school children. This need must be communicated when booking the legislative assembly tour.
Educational structured path:
Schools that want to carry out a more elaborate series of lessons about European issues can directly call the ED Antenna for an educational three hour lesson at the Legislative Assembly. Instructors must get in touch with Antenna in order to define, together with Antenna, the lesson plan.

Activities with school until 2006

The Legislative Assembly has been working for many years regarding European topics in conjunction with the schools of Emilia Romagna. The European Documentation Centre of the Assembly, now ED Antenna, performed an important role during the establishment of these activities.

The spirit which speared on our commitment in these years has been, above all, to provide students and teachers occasions to learn more about Europe, possibilities of travel within Europe, chances to understand other Italian and European realities, and to meet and realize projects together.

The path towards the construction of a new European Constitution, which began with the Laeken Declaration of 2002, provided a strong incentive for the activities of our institution to students within the region.

Since 2003, many initiatives have been realized, through the “Communicate Europe” formative path and the competition of the same name for high schools of the region.
